Shakarkand (Sweet Potato) Ki Chaat

Fasts are boring, says who? (2nd in the series)


If you are fasting but still want something which tickle your taste buds, trust me my friend this is for you. And if you are not fasting, no worries, we all need some healthier substitutes to deep fried potatoes so this is for you, go for it!



Ingredients:


Sweet Potato (Shakarkand) - 2-3 medium sized (peeled & cut into small sized cubes)

Green chutney (Coriander & Pudina chutney) -2 tbsp

Tamarind chutney - 2 tbsp

Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp

Chaat Masala - 1 tsp

Cumin Powder - 1 tsp

Oil - for deep frying

Lemon - 1 tbsp

Pomegranate - for garnishing

Coriander - chopped for garnishing


Method


1. Heat oil in a pan and deep -fry sweet potato cubes until golden brown. Drain excess oil on a paper napkin.

2. Put fried sweet potato cubes in a bowl. Add date-tamarind chutney, green chutney and mix.

3. Add chilli powder, chaat masala, cumin powder, lemon juice and coriander leaves. Mix well.

4. Garnish coriander leaves, pomegranate pearls & ginger strips and serve hot.
